Gissel Grizzle was born in Saint James, Jamaica. As a child she was always inspired by the arts. Her imagination would later lead her to write poetry and stories that also served as a therapeutic relief. In 2016, she self-published her first book entitled, “Untold Verses.” Her inspiration to compose a collection of poetry not only comes from her love of words from childhood till now, it stems from a will to transform her darkest moments into something beautiful. Her book touches on themes of childhood abuse, family dysfunction, heartbreak and grief. She wrote it to share her story and advocate for self-love and restoring harmony in families. She hopes that more people around the world will find ways to unapologetically express their self.   Since then she has been featured on News 12 Connecticut  and the Connecticut Post. You can follow her on Instagram for upcoming events that she will vend at.

Gissel attends the University of Massachusetts where she studies Marketing. She is a former student at Housatonic Community College and holds a dual associates degree in Human Services and General Studies. Gissel is currently working on her second book and immersing herself in many creative endeavors. In her spare time she enjoys museums, plays, movies, travel, and parks.
